26th November 2020 Kamuli COVID-19 updates.

Sad news as of today, we have our worst increase in number of COVID-19 positive cases. Out of 119 samples taken on 22nd and 23rd November 2020, 27 turned out positive bringing our cumulative tally to 49 positive cases in just a month and a half. Over 75% are health workers and the rest are there contacts including Boda Bodas and students. Affected hospital departments include OPD most, theatre and children's ward. We expect results from tests of additional 95 health workers and 42 district administration workers. We are likely to down size services at the hospital. As usual, I urge the communities to adhere to MoH SOPs, avoid crowds including campaign trails if possible. We have also been directed to develop village COVID-19 committees that will monitor self-isolated cases for adherence to guidelines from health workers. These committees are unfunded but will be doing bulungi bwansi to protect their own communities. DHO-Kamuli DLG
